13 Adventures, 13 Years

Wow! Thirteen years of marriage! How time flies when you are having fun!
To celebrate, we decided we would take a three day period and do thirteen activities - one for every year!

Thank you Kimberly and Tyler for taking our girls so we could do this!

1. Our first activity was to visit Mike's Grandma (G.G.). We had hoped to take her to lunch, but she did not feel up to it. Instead we visited and helped her fix a problem with her phone.

2.
Bowling was our next activity. That had to make the list - it was our first date! We went to the same bowling alley, and as usual, we made a bet. This time the winner (Mike) won a massage. here are a few more pictures from bowling.

3. Here we are at the movie theater... we saw the move Chronicle. We had the whole theater to ourselves..... the beauty of a mantinee on a school day !

4. This is after our play at Deseret Star Theater.... AWESOME as usual! This is what we saw:

5.

Day two began with sleeping in.... then we headed to the Rec Center. We ran on the track for 30 minutes and then did some weights. Leg Lifts, Leg Press, and Bench Press to be exact. It was nice to be able to use machines we do not have at home.

6. The Temple was next... we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple by our house. We used the timer to get this picture, but I have to post the next one too. He looks SO handsome!

7.
We spent an hour walking around the Lake at Day Break (Oquirrh Lake), also by our house. We love to walk or ride our bikes here in the summer. We were glad it was a warm enough day to be outside.

8.
The Jazz Game was next! We went to a few Jazz games will we were dating. Basketball is by far my favorite sport to watch.

AND, it's always better when they WIN!!!!

9.
Next stop, Anniversary Inn. We stayed at the same hotel the first night of our honeymoon.
This time we stayed in the Phantom of the Opera room. Fun decor and a delicious breakfast was included.
Plus, they had this really awesome bathtub.....

10.
After eating our delicious breakfast and watching HGTV (which I love!), we began our morning with hiking Ensign Peak. It starts here.....

Ends here....

And overlooks this..... Incredible view of the valley!

Here is proof we were there....

11. Next was the Contemporary Museum of Art. This was Mike's favorite exhibit. It combined the scientific theory of how we came to be (the big bang theory), with the account of The Creation from Genesis. It had the words of the scriptures exploding as a big bang... It was pretty cool.

12.
Next we saw "Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration" at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. I don't think anyone left the theater with dry eyes.

13.
Last but not least, Golf. I have never played golf before (aside from miniature golf). I don't think Mike has either, but usually the men go hit a bucket of balls when we go to Saint George. I thought it was a lot of fun, although I am not sure I did it correctly, but there is something satisfying about watching your ball fly through the air.
Thanks Andrew for letting us borrow your golf clubs.

There it is... our 13 planned activities! Stay tuned for the activities we have survived together during our 13 years - both planned and unplanned.
