My adventurer! My daughter with no fear!
Apparently at recess today, she saw someone jumping off the slide and thought it looked fun. She tried it once and was successful! So, why not try a second time?!
The second time however, was not so good..... I heard a scream and turned in time to see her head hit the slide, and then she fell to the ground below the slide.
Her teacher and I rushed over to see if she was ok. At first it appeared she was. Thirty minutes later she had still not calmed down. The office came to get me and off to Urgent Care we went.
Turns out she had a break on the rotator bone by her elbow and will be in a splint for the next 3 weeks.
When we ask if she would use the slide the right way now, she held up the other arm and replied:
"well this arm is ok - it's not broken! "
What would life be with no sense of adventure?
And of course, she is totally milking it!
She can't walk, because her arm is broken.
She needs her yogurt fed to her because her arm is broken!
She can't write her spelling words, because her left arm is broken?... got her there! She writes with the right hand!

Sounds like a "glass half full attitude"! Good for her!
No kidding! Isn't this her first major injury?
